Methods 1. Determination of Free and Esterified Vitamin A in Blood Plasma The Fujita method (1) using alumina chromatography for separating vita min A alcohol from esterified form and measuring photometrically with the glycerol dichlorohydrin method, was employed. 2. Determination of Vitamin A Content of Feces The improved method of Fujita (2) for eliminating non-vitamin A sub stances in feces, was used.
